The Sea Cadets

Started in 2004, The Darter-Dace Division was named after two World War II-era submarines that took part in the Battle for Leyte Gulf and is sponsored by the McClintock/Darter-Dace Recognition Committee of the Marquette Maritime Museum.

The Sea Cadets, of the US Navy, is a nation wide program for boys and girls ages 11-17.   The Darter-Dace Division is based in Marquette, MI.  They meet throughout the year to learn basic seamanship, military drills and leadership.

Pictured are the Sea Cadets graduating from their two week Coast Guard Training done at Station Marquette.
